SPOTLIGHT ON » STIRLING TECHNOLOGY

The phones at Stirling Technology are ringing with calls from China, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Russia…

Stirling Technology is located in a nondescript building at 178 Mill Street in Athens. You wouldn’t know by looking at the building, but the people inside are working on an
energy revolution.

“We care about the community, energy and the
environment,” said project engineer Kevin Blake (featured in the photograph) when asked why Stirling Technology is a
Chamber of Commerce member and has been since 1996.

The dedicated team designs, builds and tests biomass-fired energy systems used in off-grid and on-grid settings. Their systems generate electricity as well as space and water heat through the burning of biomass, such as corn husks, wood pellets, or cord wood. The heat given off by this combustion is utilized by a sterling engine and converted into 1kw of electricity.

The company has three fulltime employees, but they are “a large order away” from converting their operation into a factory line.

To learn more about this energy revolution starting in your own backyard, visit www.stirling-tech.com or call the Athens office at (800) 535-3448.

Barb SixI believe, Years ago, you folks were the ones to come up with the vents for the houses that are built "too tight". I was impressed then. Share your great works more. Keep up the good work. Try to concentrate on keeping prices low enough, around this area, for the average "Joe". Keep Truckin!
