Their unique building was originally an electric substation that the original owner purchased and designed the office around. RVC Architects, Inc. now has five partners including Julie Barickman-Smith, Jeremy Biddinger, Michael Corathers, David Moran, and Penny Mullen. It is one of Southeast Ohio’s largest, full service, general practice architecture firms. Their ten-person full-time staff handles anywhere from 30-50 projects at one time and offers comprehensive architectural and design services from start to finish. Ninety-nine percent of RVC Architects, Inc. work is done within an hour of Athens County in both the public and private sector. From residential homes and additions to churches, stadiums, health clinics, apartment renovations, and historic preservation, RVC Architects, Inc. has contributed greatly to our community. They have completed projects for Devil’s Kettle, Jackie O’s Taproom, Athens Hocking Recycling Center, the Innovation Center, Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, The Market on State, the Athens County Library on Home Street, and the Athens County Courthouse and Annex. Some of their current projects include the Uptown area student apartments, “The Next Stage - Stuart's Opera House's Capital Campaign” project, and The Dairy Barn’s “Building for a Second Century Project.” They have also recently designed Hopewell Health’s new health clinics located in Federal Hocking’s High School and Trimble Elementary which are helping to provide the public in remote areas with healthcare services. “I see the marketing and networking opportunities as a benefit of joining the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce. We chose Athens because it is a great place to live and raise a family. It is important to us to keep it local and to keep the community going,’” says Jeremy Biddinger, Registered Architect.
