2022 YAP Happy Hours
As an organizing partner for Young Athens Professionals (YAP), the Athens Area Chamber helps to provide an opportunity for monthly networking events geared towards career-minded young adults in the early stages of their careers. The monthly YAP Happy Hours are casual open-house style networking events that offer a chance to socialize with other young professionals while patronizing a different business every month. YAP events are free and open to the public.
Join the Young Athens Professionals on Thursday, August 11 from 5-7pm for our August Happy Hour at Pleasant Hill Vineyards! Come enjoy one of the best views in all of Athens, some some incredibly delicious food, and delightful local wine. We’ll be hanging out and connecting in their beautiful outdoor space — stop by and say hi!

About Athens Impact:
At Athens Impact Socially Responsible Investments we help people align their money with their values by making socially responsible choices. Our clients invest in what matters to them and make a difference in society.
Placing your core beliefs at the center of the financial planning process helps you make better long-term decisions with your assets. The variety of ethical investment options we provide means you don’t have to choose between your values and your investment performance.
Our firm is deeply committed to making a positive difference in the world. We help individuals, small businesses, non-profits, and other organizations align their investment decisions with their values and mission statements.
Advisor Background and Education:
Michelle has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. She founded Athens Impact Socially Responsible Investments to deliver a comprehensive wealth management experience to her clients focused on sustainable and ethical investing principles. She earned her Accredited Investment Fiduciary® certification and her Chartered Socially Responsible Investment Counselor® certification. In addition, she has a master’s degree in Financial Planning from North Dakota State University.

Michelle owns a cabin on 30 acres in SE Ohio. Her goal is to have a self-sustainable lifestyle by the time she retires. Michelle is poly and is part of the LGBT+ community. Her activism in that arena led her to consider becoming an SRI advisor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Gil, her dog, Theo, and being near her children and their families. On founding a business dedicated to sustainable practices, Michelle is grateful to be doing something that matters and makes a difference in the world.
How Athens Impact gives back:
Athens Impact LLC is located in the poorest county in Ohio. In order to run her business in an ethical way, Michelle does not put any minimum cash requirements on her clients. To give back to her community, she regularly meets with people for free to help them make good financial choices, even when they are not a good fit as investment clients. In addition, she has developed a six-month financial education program focused on helping Appalachian women become more financially secure. She works with a financial coach and partners with non-profit organizations in her area to present this material to those in need.
