The Athens Area Chamber’s 29th Annual Golf Benefit was a smashing success – thank you to all who participated!
On Friday, May 19th, Chamber members gathered at the Athens Country Club for the Chamber’s 29th Annual Golf Benefit. Our first few teams teed off in a light rain, but thankfully the skies cleared up and we all enjoyed a sunny and mild afternoon on the beautiful course.
While we are all there to have some fun, there is some friendly competition between teams, and we do name the top teams of the day. Just as in 2022, the Carpenter & Associates team took 1st place this year, and, just like last year, the team from Holzer Health System placed 2nd. Do we sense a new friendly rivalry developing here? Coming in 3rd place this year was the team from Freedom Pest Control, and rounding it out in 4th was Shriver’s Pharmacy.
Each year we also award four skill prizes, and those winners are as follows: Longest Drive, Women: Lexis Fickel, from the Freedom Pest Control team; Longest Drive, Men: Chane Porter, from the Mark Porter Autogroup team; Closes to the Pin: Matt Shirk, from the Mathews Insurance team; Longest Putt: Jay Nauman, from the Shriver’s Pharmacy team. Two teams this year split the pot for the skins game, and those winners are Freedom Pest Control and Hickory Creek of Athens. And the lucky winner of the 50/50 drawing was Jon Dailey of QuidelOrtho.
Congratulations to our winners – and scroll down for a photo gallery from the day!
