On Thursday, April 13th, Connecting Athens Professionals (CAP) held it’s first happy hour of 2023 at the Ohio University Inn and Conference Center. The event also marked the first happy hour since the rebranding of the group from Young Athens Professionals to Connecting Athens Professionals – a change that was made with the intention of making the group more inclusive and welcoming to all.
While it at first it felt like a gamble to rebrand a group that was already working well, the move paid off bigtime, and the biggest crowd we’ve had in years turned out, proving that Athenians of all ages, professions, and levels of experience are eager for a laid-back, welcoming space to come together and connect.
And connect we did! Attendees enjoyed the beautiful weather from the OU Inn’s solarium – which opens directly onto their spacious and well-appointed patio – and savored the amazing spread of complimentary appetizers put out by the OU Inn, who was both the host and sponsor for the event.
