AUBA Spotlight: Passion Works Studio

If you’ve been in Athens for even a little bit, chances are you are already familiar with the work of Passion Works Studio. Their bright, colorful creations adorn the walls of many businesses and residences in Athens, and their signature Passion Works Flower is the “Official Flower of Athens, Ohio.”

Passion Works is a collaborative community studio housed within a sheltered workshop where people with and without developmental differences make art together. The studio became a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2018, and it remains a trailblazer in creating integrated settings where people investigate their own talents and interests while participating in community-based programming and creative employment opportunities.

Passion Works is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, and visitors are welcome to tour their studio (located in Uptown Athens just off of Court Street), see the Passion Flower being made, play with puppets, jump into collaborative art making, and shop for funky art. If you love color and whimsy, you’ll love the Passion Works Studio! Learn more at https://passionworks.org/
