The popular local event, Bounty on the Bricks, made its triumphant return post-Covid on Saturday, August 6. Presented by OhioHealth and sponsored by many of our member organizations, Bounty on the Bricks raises funds for the Southeastern Ohio Foodbank and its member food pantries in Athens, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Vinton and Washington counties. The Athens Area Chamber was a part of the planning committee for the 2022 Bounty on the Bricks as well as a proud sponsor.
The event, which started in 2013 and is traditionally held on the eponymous Court Street bricks, was moved indoors to the Market on State this year due to inclement weather. The last time that inclement weather had moved the event to the Market on State was in 2016. However, the move didn’t seem to dampen the festivities of the night and the whole building was buzzing with the chatter from the sold-out crowd.
Bounty on the Bricks focuses on celebrating local farmers and fresh produce, and attendees were treated to a four-course meal of locally sourced, seasonal fare. Making the night even more unique, each course was prepared by a different local chef:
- Appetizer: Chef Katie Mosher, River Willow Culinary
- Soup & Salad: Chef Andrew Rios Wenmoth, OU Inn
- Entrée: Chef Becky Clark, Little Fish Brewing
- Dessert: Chef Gabe Fisher, Purple Chopstix
