It’s that time in the Athens calendar when the Ohio University students drain out of town…only for incoming students and their parents to pour in! Ohio University’s yearly Bobcat Student Orientation (BSO) started on Wednesday, May 31 and will run through the end of June, bringing a few thousand incoming first-year students and their families to Athens. While the BSO is intended to prepare students for the start of their college career, this is also an important time for their families to learn about area businesses and all that there is to love about Athens.
The Chamber is thrilled to once again take part in the BSO resource fair, and because this fair is mostly focused on the resources within the OU campus, our tables will be one of the first introductions that students and their families have to the businesses in Athens. We thank all of our businesses who provided us with coupons, menus, and branded items to display on our tables! And if your business did not take advantage of this opportunity and would still like to, we may still have some room, so please contact our office as soon as possible at 740-593-9353 or admin@athenschamber.com.
Additionally, in the spirit of welcoming this new group of students and their families to Athens, we have created a sign that we invite our members to print out and hang in a window/business, as well as a social media image that we invite our members to use on their own accounts:
