It’s been just under a month since I assumed the role as the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce President. The warm welcome and support from staff, our board, our members, and the community has been amazing. I feel so grateful. It is a testament to this beautiful place we call home.
Last month, we hosted a very successful (and fun!) Celebrate Athens Auction and Dinner. We have such vibrant and generous members who continue to make this evolving event the success that it has always been. I am grateful for everyone who helped and there were many!
The 6th Annual Athens Area Women’s+ Summit will be held on Friday, October 28th at Stuart’s Opera House. The planning committee has been hard at work. Together, we have an inspiring day planned for attendees. The speakers and sessions will take you on a journey of personal and professional development and growth. It will be an empowering day and we look forward to seeing you there!
As we are entering a new season, I am inspired to embrace it on all levels. I look forward to connecting and reconnecting with you, our members. Hearing from you, understanding your successes and struggles, will help me to lead our Chamber through this season of change, and beyond.
As L.M. Montgomery wrote, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” It reminds us that change can be so beautiful. We’ve gone through a lot of changes together over the past few years. And because of our businesses, leadership, strategic partners, staff past and present, we are standing strong. Together, we will continue to strengthen the Athens Area business community. It is a privilege to do the work in this role.
In gratitude,
Kristin Miller
