From guiding and implementing a new strategic plan and adopting new systems to drive efficiency, to partnering with community leaders to bring innovative and collaborative change to our region while developing a robust, growing, talented staff, it has been my privilege to lead the Chamber through challenging times and significant changes while remaining a steadfast community organization.

Even before serving in this role, I recognized the power of connectivity through my role as a Chamber ambassador and continue to be grateful every day for the unique, collaborative nature of this organization and our wonderful community.

While it has been a honor to serve in this capacity, I recognize that any person in this role (and certainly several other key community positions) does face a key challenge in managing the duality between being the face of an organization and honoring our individual needs as they shift across time.

With this in mind, I recognize that it is my time to seek new opportunities in which I may both continue to serve this amazing community and honor my need to drive additional meaningful change as an engaged citizen.

As I look ahead, I see fantastic potential for both the Chamber and myself. I have full faith in the Board, the business community, and the incredible staff I’ve brought on to continue to grow and develop the Chamber in innovative and meaningful ways in the years to come. I look forward to a smooth transition to a new president in the coming months and hope to welcome them at our fall fundraiser, Celebrate Athens Auction & Dinner on September 15, 2022.
