The 7th Annual Athens Area Women’s+ Summit, held on Friday, November 10th, 2023, at Stuart’s Opera House was a huge success! The Summit provided a day full of speaker sessions, networking, a keynote address by local entrepreneur Jessica Kopelwitz, a raffle basket, networking BINGO, and so much more!

A sold-out crowd of new and returning attendees enjoyed making connections during free times and sessions. Panelists and speakers gave attendees many opportunities to reflect, and attendees left feeling energized, emboldened, and capable of making change in their life and community.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, including our Premier Sponsor OhioHealth, the day was enjoyed by all. Many thanks also goes to our Breakfast Sponsor, OUCU Financial, for supporting our breakfast buffet provided by the Village Bakery and Fluff Bakery and to our Lunch Sponsor, Hocking Valley Bank, who generously supported our lunch buffet, which was provided by Kiser’s Barbeque, with dessert from Village Bakery. Special thanks also goes to Athens Impact Socially Responsible Investments who donated a basket of goodies that we raffled off and donated all of the proceeds to Women for Recovery. Our amazing attendees truly stepped up for the cause, and in one day we were able to raise over $900 to donate!

The day wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and months of dedication from our Planning Committee: Susan Barga, The Athens Real Estate Company; Tammy Bobo, Hocking Valley Bank; Chelsea Clark-Bešić, Athens Area Chamber; Mollie Fitzgerald, Athens County Economic Development Council; Tara Gilts, OhioHealth; Kristin Miller, Athens Area Chamber; Donna Russell, OUCU Financial; Bailey Shooner, Ohio University; and Polly Sumney, Hocking Valley Bank.

We also want to thank all of our volunteers who made the day such a special experience for our attendees: Melissa Bailes, Marriott Inn & Suites; Sarah Debroas, Herlihy Moving & Storage; Myca Haynes; Lindsey Slater, Ohio University Inn; Keely Stockwell, OhioHealth; Mallory Swaim, Mathews Insurance; Bailey Shooner, Ohio University; and Hanna Vorisek, Ohio University.

And many thanks to all of our sponsors (scroll down to see them all) and our attendees for making this such an uplifting day!
